Sister Gina Mitchell bids farewell to the Fracture Clinic at the Ulster Hospital as she retires after an extraordinary 42-year career, marking the end of an era.
Gina’s nursing journey started over four decades ago in the Ulster Hospital, with the last 28 years as a Sister in the Fracture Clinic. Over the years, Gina has become a much-loved nurse within the clinic, renowned for her kindness, professionalism and dedication ensuring the well-being of every patient under her care.
Gina’s time within the Fracture Clinic has been characterised by her efforts to go above and beyond in providing comfort and support to those facing injuries and ailments. Her expertise in fracture management and her compassionate approach to patient care have earned her the respect and admiration of both patients and colleagues.
Throughout her 42 years of service, Gina has demonstrated excellence and has been a source of inspiration for her colleagues, setting a standard of professionalism and dedication that will be remembered long after her retirement. Her contributions to the clinic’s success and her impact on the lives of countless patients will be greatly missed.
Reflecting on her career, Gina said, “I really couldn’t have got to where I am today without the help and support of all my colleagues, both nursing and medical, they have been the heart of my career. They are a great bunch of people!”
