South Eastern Trust Celebrate Success at Glittering Reception for Advancing Healthcare Awards 2024

The exceptional work of the South Eastern Trust’s Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy teams was recognised at the recent Advancing Health Care awards in London.

Hosted by Northern Ireland’s own Eamonn Holmes, the awards celebrate the innovative and inspiring work being carried out by Allied Health Professionals across the UK.

Lead Professional for Speech and Language Therapy Lorraine Coulter praised the success of all who were awarded on the night.

“Occupational Therapist Joshua Kendall and Speech and Language Therapist Charlotte Campbell were recipients of the Rising Star Award. Joshua, for his initiative in leading and piloting a project into the use of Reminiscence Interactive Therapy Activities for people with delirium and dementia and Charlotte, for her positive influence on team morale and her engaging and helpful personality.”

The Help Kids Talk Team led by Lorraine, South Eastern Trust’s Speech and Language Therapist Sarah Ratcliffe and Mabel Scullion (Early Intervention Lisburn, Barnardos NI) were also awarded the Northern Ireland Government Award for Partnering, Shaping and Leading to Improve Population Health for the Help Kids Talk initiative.  The programme, together with lead partners Early Intervention Lisburn, Barnardos NI and Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, brings together community, voluntary and statutory organisations along with parents and carers to improve life chances for children.
